LegalSuite and SARS
From 1 April 2011 the Transfer Duty Act, No 40 of 1949, requires that all Transfer Duty application must be submitted electronically to SARS. The following step by step guide can be downloaded from SARS's website for further information on how this must currently be done:

The exciting news is that LegalSuite is currently working with SARS to allow you to apply for Transfer Duty Receipts electronically from within LegalSuite. This would mean that all the information already captured in LegalSuite will automatically be sent to the SARS website to populate the fields on their website required to generate the TD forms on-line. SARS will then send back an assessment which will show the amount that must be paid. Once the conveyancer has made payment he will get issued with a Transfer Duty receipt.
This integration will no doubt speed up the process of applying for a Transfer Duty Clearance Certificate.
The system is under development and we hope to release it in the next couple of months, when further information will follow.
Tech4Law iPad2 Winner
Tech4Law recently ran a competition on their website, which was won by LegalSuite user Caryn Leslie of Smith Tabata Buchanan Boyes Attorneys. Caryn won an iPad 2. She has worked for STBB at their Tyger Valley branch for six years in the Conveyancing Department, and will be celebrating her first year anniversary in November. Says Caryn “I am absolutely delighted! It’s the first thing I have ever won!” The iPad was presented to Caryn by Michele Bentley, Regional Manager for LegalSuite in the Western Cape. LegalSuite opens new Branch in the Western Cape
LegalSuite is proud to announce the opening of their first branch office in the Western Cape. Michelé Bentley has been transferred from our head office in Durban to establish the branch there and to provide our Cape clients with personalised “hands on” support and training.
She will also work closely with our sales agent, Paul Miller, to ensure that our new clients get the best training and after-sales support.
Michelé has been with LegalSuite for over 10 years. Prior to that, she worked on LegalSuite at a number of law firms and with this experience, combined with her legal and conveyancing expertise, we are confident she will prove to be an invaluable asset to our growing customer base in this region.
